About Me

My journey began in Malawi, took an unexpected turn in New Zealand – where I landed the very day of the February 2011 Canterbury earthquake – and has now brought me to Toronto, Canada. That dramatic welcome to New Zealand became a fitting metaphor for what I've learned about transformation: sometimes the ground needs to shake beneath your feet before something new can be built.
Armed with a Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from Lincoln University, I've deliberately chosen paths that challenge conventional career trajectories. From managing supply chains to practicing as an accountant, and now working as a Security Analyst at Shopify – where I help protect millions of merchants worldwide – each transition has reinforced my belief that growth happens at the edges of our comfort zones.
My entrepreneurial spirit has led me to build and successfully exit multiple businesses. As a business consultant, I helped entrepreneurs optimize their operations and decode their financial narratives, teaching them that success isn't just about the numbers – it's about the courage to read the story they're telling you and the boldness to act on those insights. This passion for fostering growth in others also led me to establish a cultural home décor brand connecting people to Malawian craftsmanship, and a running-focused nonprofit that built sustainable communities through sports.
Leadership and community building have been constant threads throughout my journey. For nearly a decade, I served as Run Director at one of New Zealand's largest parkruns, building a vibrant community of over 800 weekly participants and coordinating teams of dedicated volunteers. When I'm not analyzing security threats or contemplating business strategies, you'll find me testing my limits on ultra-marathon trails. Having progressed from 5K runs to completing 100-mile races, I've discovered that distance running mirrors the entrepreneurial journey: success is less about raw talent and more about the willingness to embrace discomfort, adapt to changing conditions, and keep moving forward when others might quit.
I share insights on intentional growth, calculated risk-taking, and the mindset required to thrive in today's rapidly evolving landscape. My diverse background – spanning three continents, multiple industries, and countless miles of trails – has taught me that our greatest achievements lie just beyond our perceived limitations.
I write about the intersection of personal development, professional transformation, and the historical patterns that inform our future choices. Whether you're contemplating a career pivot, building a business, or pushing your personal boundaries, my goal is to help you approach these challenges with clarity, purpose, and strategic insight.
